Dear Monk Linda,
On the pages where you mention listening to J. Vernon McGee and Hank Hanegraaff on the radio; did you know that you could listen to them on the internet at oneplace.com any time day or night?  It is a veritable treasury of teaching to those who can't get them on the radio!

Also, I wanted to take this time to thank you for giving so much information on these spiritual giants of the faith!  I ordered the documentary "Obstacle to Comfort" which tells about George Mueller and the movie on Hudson Taylor and it was uplifting to see these men who struggled like we do and yet prayed through their problems!  George Mueller, in particular, really inspired me to get serious about reading and studying the Bible!  I had no idea that there were people who actually immersed themselves in the Word like he did!  ...it spoke to my heart because the scripture that Our Lord has brought to my mind repeatedly is Ephesians 5:26: (I realize that in context the scripture is speaking about Christ and "the church," but surely it could also pertain to our relationship with God!  I mean,  who does not need to have their mind "washed with the water by the word?").

"25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, 26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, 27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish."

This web site is a blessing to me!  Thank you for taking the time to preview all these sources and then recommending them to us!
Blessings!
Linda C.

I have listened again to Brother Lawrence's "Practicing the Presence of God".  You are the first Biblically-Evangelical Ministry I have found which is along the same lines without going Roman...I thank God.  I have felt a calling toward a change in my walk along your lines for a while and I thank God also to have found you all.  My letter to you went out in yesterday's mail...

Re: Dr. McGee's half-hour radio program.
You may also want to know that His whole 5 year program is available for free download (on their website): Thru the Bible.

Another option is what I use.  Zeipod or any podcasting software.
You can then setup free subscription downloads like McGee, Spurgeon, Hanegraaff, etc from oneplace.com.

By downloading the original daily broadcasts I and my wife can have our sermon/devotional time whenever.  We can use mp3 players to listen at work to our sermons. etc.

Have started the "program" and think it will be an answer to prayer for direction.  I have created a PDF outlining my personal order of the day.
I am coming from a lifestyle of heavy reliance on technology (ie.: MP3 sermons and Audio Bibles).  Not that it is bad, but for me, a re-commitment to paper will be beneficial.

Psalms sung in Gaelic...(see CDs on their website): Gaelic Psalm Singing.
Your Brother,
Phillip (Michigan)

...just a note Re: your chapel - while I know I can pray and talk to the Lord anywhere -- I thought your chapel page was so lovely it has actually now inspired me to convert a small room in my home as a "chapel" and Bible study area - a place for quiet prayer, meditation and study away from distractions, sounds and family.  I think it helps keep me from being interrupted or easily pulled to other things because I shut the door and I'm aware (and family is aware) that I'm in my prayer closet.  I'm still rearranging some furnishings but it is simple - an arrangement of a central standing Cross, Bible, candles and for now I've also combined a small blanket rack and cushion (with chair nearby) into a temporary prayer kneeler (eventually I will either buy one second-hand or I might take a shot at building my own in wood).
I don't know how you find and process all this information but it's wonderful.
Yours in Christ,
Monk Karen (New Jersey)

I'm sorry to say but I have been without a computer for quite some time.  I'm now wireless but, I'm still feeling the effects of having computer worms, viruses, etc.  I currently am fighting a Trojan and it's causing me a lot of grief, but I'll keep fighting it.  I really love the new site.  It's jam packed with all kinds of interesting & Godly material.  I really love the prayer room you have.
On occasion, I've shown a few church members that "Yes" they
too could become a monk.  I enjoyed seeing the Prayer Warriors growing
larger and stronger
.
Well, now you know what and where I've been and again, it's good to come to the site and see all the great new additions.  ...I hope & pray that I can get all the bugs out of this machine.  I guess time will tell.         May God Richly Bless You &  yours,                                                      Monk Carroll (Brother Carroll)

Greetings,
My name is Leona and for years I've said tongue and cheek, "If only there was such a thing as a Christian Monastery" I would be there.  I have tearfully looked over much of your website and I believe as you have said...I am a Monk in my heart.  I would like very much to receive your newsletter.
I have labored in prayer for years for something like this...I'm so happy to see that God has made a place for it on this Earth...a place where God's people can support and encourage one another and keep their garments spotless unto that day.
Gods very best to you,
Leona W.

Survey:                                                                                                            How Found: Prompted by The Spirit to search internet for monastic orders.
Liked Best: The  large amount of information presented.  Also the simplicity of  the Statement of Faith and purpose of The Prayer Foundation and its mission.
Liked Least: There really wasn't anything.
What could be Improved: The only way to improve it would be to pare down the information presented somehow and I wouldn't recommend doing that.
Like to See:  Looks to me that you have everything.
Born-again? Yes.
Visit Site: Daily.
Comments: It was simple but in a captivating way.                              (Arkansas)

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
I agree with Monk Karen that it is wonderful to have the Worship
Service of the Monks of The Prayer Foundation
.  I am also using it as a
part of my daily office (albeit in the morning) so I feel that I am
worshipping together with you all, and I bless you from my room.
In Christ,
Monk Denise (Japan)

Dear Monk Preston,
I just wanted to take a moment and tell you how much I've loved the new pages, particularly right now the Monastery Chapel and Worship Service pages as I feel it gives (for me at least) another connection to you all there in Oregon.  The Chapel is beautiful, and I'm happy to add the worship service to my daily prayer.
Also wanted to say I love you all, and I'm praying for you.
Warmly in Christ,
Monk Karen (New Jersey)
