Hi, Monks of Prayer Foundation :
I think it is an interesting thing that you are doing!
Concerning Monks and Lady Monks, as far as I know the word monk derives from the Greek word monos meaning sole/single, hermitlike, and has no sex added to it, so strictly speaking a Monk is a person living solely, but that of course makes no sense when living in a community!  If you look in the Rule of St. Benedict, he talks of four kinds of Monks; maybe there is some explanation there!
...it is your organization, you can do as you like.
Again I think you are doing  it good, but don't mess up things, people get
confused, and I do think, they will not take you seriously and that's a
shame.
I also would like to get back to the Church of old, and a simple and sincere
spirituality, but I also say to myself, before 1054 there was One Church, but many traditions, but let us not confuse people!
I wish you and your community all the best!
Well, rethinking Monasticism is not a bad thing at all, and though it is an
outer thing, I very much like your green monastic Habit.  If I should ever
start an Order I think the Habit (Cuculla) should be either sky blue or
royal blue.
Pax et Bonum

Yours in Christ,
Deacon, Robert V.

I just found your website and love it!  Thank you.
Have you read anything by Stephen Lawhead?  He writes fiction about all things Celtic, including the Cele De, or Culdees.
Some books of his include Patrick (historical fiction about guess who), ...(and) Byzantium (historical fiction about the adventures of an Irish monk who eventually presents the Book of Kells to the Orthodox Patriarch of Constantinople).  I think he'd fit right into your website. Cheers,                                                                                                            John W.

Comment from The Prayer Foundation We are actually not combining any Catholic and Protestant beliefs (we are an Interdenominational Evangelical Protestant ministry).  What we do is to point out, as in the Nicene Creed, and in C. S. Lewis' classic book, Mere Christianity, where Catholic, Protestant, and Orthodox Christians all agree on so many basic historic Christian Biblical teachings.

Greetings in the name of Jesus!
I came across your website recently, while exploring Celtic Christian sites, and others (e.g., the Northumbria and Lindisfarne communities)...The concepts of "new monasticism" and lay monasticism do strike a positive chord in my spirit -- I was raised in the Episcopal Church, presently attend a non-denominational church; although I still regularly pray one of the Daily Offices, it's not quite fulfilling my desire for liturgical worship, and it might be helpful if I was to join together with one or more like-minded believers.  I've been exploring The Prayer Foundation website for several days now...
I also sense a drawing toward the Knights of Prayer Order (maybe even getting a prayer chapter started in my area!)...                                        I'll be in touch shortly via "snail-mail", with a contribution toward your ministry...God bless you folks always,                                                 Merrill P. My name is William.  I'm 10 years old and I love the way you spread the Word of God.  Right now I have the three verses you give the monks in my Bible.  I found this website by looking for how to be a Baptist monk.  Your website is Great!  Today I'm going to Church Camp and I'm going to spread your word.  Thanks!!!!!!!!!!                                                                                    William (Oklahoma)

I happened to stumble upon your website when I was searching for some History on our early church fathers.  I just want you to know that I am extremely blessed to have found your site.  I started reading the Top Ten Christian Books.  So far Bonhoeffer's is the best.
Your site has really helped me on my journey and it has helped me to know how to pray better.  Every time I look at it I find something new.  I've been sending it to all of my friends.  Thank you again for such great information!  I've been thinking about starting a prayer journal, and just look what I found on your website!
God Bless you all,
Lisa (Phoenix, Arizona)
