I praise God for your web site, and for your encouragement to live a holy life in conduct and prayer.  And I have found the information and videos on the great Celtic saints of the early dark ages most helpful.  Last year my wife and I followed the trail of Cuthbert from Melrose to Lindisfarne Island and ultimately to Durham Cathedral, the final resting place of his body.
I think you come out in the holy freedom we have in Christ, after reading Monk Linda's testimony.

May the Lord give you all peace!!
Dear Brothers and Sisters of Prayer,
I have been surfing your site and am delighted that someone has started a monastic order that is non-denominational, spirit filled and based solely on God's Holy word.
I have been a non-denominational believer for 20 years.  But the Lord was calling me to be Franciscan!  Imagine how confusing that was.  In my heart I wanted to be a monk more than anything.
The life of Francis is so inspiring to so many that His radical discipleship of our Lord is contagious and crosses denominational lines.  It is a blessing to see that you have blended traditional monasticism with solid reformed doctrine.  What a  perfect match.
There is so much value in a disciplined Christian life.  The lukewarm church of our day needs to see anointed men and women of God, filled with the Holy Spirit, living a consecrated life and burning with passion for Christ and His word, and bringing the Kingdom to the lost.
These are powerful days to live for Christ, my brethren.  I encourage you to stay your course and continue in the Spirit of humility.  Continue being strong witnesses for our Lord.  The life of a monk is a strong witness to a world like we live in today.  People want to see sold out believers who take their call seriously.
I know many evangelicals do not understand why you have gone monastic, but it is your destiny.  I believe that God is restoring the monastic lifestyle in His Church.
It really is funny how I came about your site. I was thinking today that I was going to start a Franciscan community in my city.  But it would have to be non-denominational; founded on Bible doctrine and the rule of Francis but not be affiliated with any denomination.  A non-denominational Franciscan order that was open to all who were called to live the radical Christian life!      Blending the Daily Office with contemporary worship.  The old with the new.  The best of both worlds.  Please keep me in your prayers as I will keep you in mine.
Subscribe me to  your email list (Monthly E-Newsletter).  Be strong and be humble.  In His Peace,                                                                  Brother Joe C.J.+  (Charlotte, North Carolina)

I noticed that the last country of the week for prayer on the Prayer
Requests page was Georgia.  That's excellent!  I plan to lead a team of men next year to assist these missionaries build a Christian school...I just stumbled onto your website yesterday!
How exciting!
About 6 months ago God called me to change careers, sell off almost everything I own (except clothes, air mattress, laptop/printer, and some books), and go to seminary for a Masters of Counseling Psychology.  I invited people to come to my house and take anything they wanted, and just donate based on how God directed them, but they couldn't tell me how much they were giving...
Wow, the last 6 months have been amazing!  I'm still working at my job to save money for school, and will sell my house around December.  My project manager at work was worried about me when I sold everything and said he thought I was going off to live a monastic lifestyle.. and I told him I would but I didn't know of any places I'd go. :-)

I read a little bit on your website about the possible expansion for
university students or others in a lay community in the Portland area.  Wow!
Did God direct me to your website?  I intend to attend Western Seminary in Portland in September 2006!  I would be more than interested in participating in ministry with you, particularly with the prayer chain
Once in Portland the time I'll expect to spend at seminary is about 5 years.  I'm Very,Very big on prayer and fasting...it's become a huge part of my life.  Your statement of faith and vision lines up with my heart as well.

I'm prayerfully considering joining the team as an oblate... I'm sure I'll
be in touch shortly, but wanted to introduce myself!
Grace and Peace,
Cody (Richland, Washington)

Marvelous Site!  I am content to be acquainted with people that honour the Word of God, and at same time appreciate the movies, especially those with Christian subjects.  Here, in Brazil, believers avoid movie theaters, television, magazines with photos of actors and actresses.
Movie pictures for them are worldly.  I think it is exaggeration, because there are good films and bad films, as there are good and bad books.

Certainly, you must be proud about your marvelous site The Prayer Foundation, with a section dedicated for excellent analysis of the movies.  I know all the Hollywood masterpiece of the fifties that had an important part to confirm my Christian faith, in my young years, and that I see with great satisfaction in your list of the best Christian pictures ever made by Hollywood in the golden age.
... great information and wise advice you give for all your happy visitors.
God bless you and your splendid work!
Sincerely,
Claudio (Brazil)
