I'm really encouraged to find the website.  I've been interested in the
monastic lifestyle for sometime, but as a married evangelical I've had
some 'moral dilemmas' with it.  It's great to find your site and to be
anticipating getting the monk certificate in the near future.
I wanted to ask something regarding praying the Hours.  I like the
"system" Monk Preston designed...I simply cut/paste the appropriate week and save it in a file on my PC as I do email every day and I have been jotting down the daily chapters.
Thanks for making this ministry available and for being tools for the
Lord.  There is a real beauty in the words and works of history's monks
and I'm really glad to know a ministry like this exists.
Your brother in Christ,
Jim (Maine)

I was just searching through the web about prayer (and found your Website).
(What I like best are the) different quotations and the works of the whole ministry.  To tell you honestly it's all got the things that I like to see and hear.
I am a Born-again Christian and visit your Site daily.  I am so profoundly amazed that at first I thought maybe it's not the one I'm looking for...but thank God it is...thank you very much.

My life has been completely turned around since I joined our...Prayer Group here in Sydney.  Thank you very much for your helpful tips about praying...It is so delightful to read your website full of inspirational quotations from different great religious Christians as well as chapters and verses from the Bible which help me a lot in my daily quest for inspirational prayers.  Before, I was only a regular attendee every Saturday; but after three Saturday fellowships they ask me to join the Choir, which I gladly accepted.  From then on my Christian Life has become stronger until recently they asked me to lead the opening prayer...Thank you very much because your website has helped me make my prayer more involving.  Praise Be To God!
Larry (Sydney, Australia)

Dear Brother Monks,
I was very interested to find your web-site,  but also a little wary, until I read over your information/beliefs.  I wholeheartedly agree!
I have long been aware of the priesthood of all believers,  Why not monks?
I would like to join your order...I will be sending (a donation) in the mail soon.
Scott J. (Missouri)

Praise the Lord's Holy Name,                                                                      I found your website and was delighted with what I read...would you please be able to consider myself as a born again monk.  God Bless your service.                           Yours,                                                                                                       Patrick R. (from Cobh, County Cork; now living in London, England)

I was greatly encouraged by your Newsletter.  I had lost touch with you, misplaced you in my brain.  But God is good and He knows exactly when we need a certain word.                                                                           God bless your ministry and may He prosper you greatly.  God bless you and may you be encouraged as well that you labor not in vain.     God rewards greatly.  Just be faithful...have integrity in all your ways. Cristilyn

I will be looking to join your order shortly.  We have been without a regular pastor for a year, and I have been filling in with the pulpit preaching.  I am a lay preacher, and Bible College student at Whitefield College, and hopefully Whitefield Theological Seminary after that.  I usually get only about 2 hrs. of sleep the night before I am to preach...  Yet, I have found that God always comes through and blesses.
May the Lord bless you and yours,
John (Florida)

...the book ("Gladys Aylward: Misionary to China" - "Heroes of the Faith" Book Series) was a double blessing...I read it in one sitting, but my young niece is very interested in Missionary work to that area (see: "China Pages") and I was able to share the book with her as well.  May God use it to stir her heart for His Will.  Be Blessed and Thank-You!      Monk Victoria (Indiana)

I am a Born-again Christian who originally found your Website on an internet search, and now visit your Site weekly.  Like best: the Celtic pages.
I thought it was awesome, very complete.

It was quite by accident that I came across your site, and it has already been added to my Favorites folder.  I never knew that a person could be a lay monk and not be Catholic (Editor's Note: see our webpage; Brief History of Protestant Monasticism).  For quite some time, I have been pondering the idea of living my life as a monk at home, but all the sites I entered were geared to Catholic theology.

For awhile now, there has been a deep hunger for something more real in my life.  I began reading books on Christian spirituality from those like Richard Foster and Thomas à Kempis.  Even my favorite music has been Gregorian Chant and Hebraic praise.

Being disabled and married, I could never enter a monastery--but would love to visit one sometime.  My home church is the Church of the Nazarene denomination, but my heart wants to draw even closer to the Lord.  Please subscribe me to your newsletter.

Again I want to thank you for your site and the chance for me to fulfill my desire to be a monk and be able to live at home--and not have to worry about my disability interfering with it.

(I will be sending) in for the Wall Certificate and the Pocket Certificate.  Again thank you for being obedient to the Lord and allowing Christians to be monks without the Catholic theology.

Do I sound excited? You can bet that I am, for this is a dream come true. As of today, I will begin incorporating the (Daily Prayer) Praying the Hours, as well as going through the ("Growing in Christ" Monastic Training) Course of study which you have posted online.
Thanks again!!!!
Sincerely,
Monk Joe (Maine)

I am glad to have found your web site.  I was searching the Internet to
see if any Protestant monastic orders existed.  Monastic life has
always appealed to me.  ...I was hoping something
existed for Protestants drawn to the monastic life.
Coincidentally, you mention Dr. McGee and Hank Hanegraaff.  I only
recently found Dr. McGee's radio program, but try to listen to him as
often as possible.  He seems to be doctrinally sound and a great
teacher.  I recently heard a recording by Hank Hanegraaff  ("Christianity In Crisis": Cassette Tapes) with quotes from television preachers discussing their own doctrine.  Their beliefs are clearly not correct, but it left me wondering what was correct.  I knew that I had decided to follow Jesus, but I found myself looking at all the different versions of Christian beliefs.  I've never encountered Paul E. Little ("Know What you Believe") before, but do have Wayne Grudem's book on theology, which is probably similar.

I've been trying to learn more about Christian faith.  My lifelong interest has been with what I believe, and why I believe it, and by extension what anyone believes and why they believe it.  I've looked at various religious beliefs, and secular beliefs, to try to see what is true.  The more I examine what people have believed over the years, the more I come to the conclusion that the Christian faith is the best explanation for the world we live in.  What makes Christianity unique among the world's religions is the fact that it admits this is a fallen world, and that we can't save ourselves through self-effort.  We need a substitute to stand in our place.  I tend to have a more Reformed view of the Christian faith, because it highlights this uniqueness about Christianity.

I am impressed with the idea of being a lay monk as the first level of
monastic experience.  ...I want to look into becoming a lay monk.  Since I already listen to Dr. McGee, I have a head start! (Hank Hanegraaff's program does not air in my area).  I have looked over your statement of faith and agree with it.  I already have a sort of "monkish" calling, which involves writing and reflecting on Christian topics.  I am inspired by some of C. S. Lewis' writings, but don't have his background in Classics and philosophy!  I try to write what I can on Christian topics, and publish what I write for free on
my web site.

Monk Preston, Monk Linda,                                                                        I did receive my (Monastic) Certificate and wallet Card today; they are beautiful, thank you.  I hope that you are having a blessed day.

Dear brothers and sisters,
Thank you so much, we got the (Monastic) Certificates and the Cards.  Llyn and I felt so good we just
began to thank God in prayer and praise.                                            Love in Christ Jesus our Lord.                                                                 Monk Michael and Monk Chappellellyn (Washington State)

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,                                                          It was a great blessing to stumble upon the prayerfoundation.org Site and to discover the like-minded individuals associated with it.  The beliefs documented in your Statement of Faith and illuminated by other pages on your website are consistent with my own.  As such, I (was) inspired to Register as a Lay Monk with the Knights of Prayer monastic order.  I would also like to purchase the movie, John Wycliffe, The Morning Star from your Gift Shop.

I was fortunate to have been raised in a church-going home.  I accepted Christ as my personal savior at age nine, and was active in youth choir throughout High School.

My most memorable experience during this period, was when I took part in a mission trip to Belize.  During the bus ride in from the airport, I was quickly immersed in their culture, when I saw a man hand-tooling a beautiful small wooden casket in front of a nondescript wood-sided frame house.  It was a very humbling experience to spend time amongst these loving people.  While they generally had few material belongings, they had a spirituality and love for Christ, the likes of which I'd never seen before, and have sorely missed since.  It was amazing how open these people were to receiving the "Good News of Jesus Christ our Lord".  That each of us came away from this experience with so much more than we'd taken into it, was the greatest blessing of all!

Only in recent months have I realized the importance of daily meditation and prayer in the morning, and scriptural reading and prayer each evening.  I...will continue to remember The Prayer Foundation and its Prayerchain requests during my prayer time, with special emphasis on doing so during my Wednesday night prayers.                                   Yours in Christ,                                                                                                       Brother Eddie (Texas) ____________________________________________________________
