9/10/04_____________________________________________ Dear Brothers and Sisters: I am so happy to have found a fellowship like your own living out a unique and powerful monastic vision. I am sure God is working through you. I also love that you consider Brother Sun, Sister Moon to be such a wonderful film. I saw it only recently when a friend of my wife loaned us a VHS of the film. I bought the DVD immediately and have watched portions of it for inspiration from this great life lived for God. God bless you and your godly work. Best regards, Samuel S. (California) 9/9/04_____________________________________________ Dear Brothers/Sisters, I found your website while searching for a copy of the Breasplate of St. Patrick. I am a Catholic Christian and have an affinity for Celtic spirituality. I am interested in your monastic training course to become a lay monk in your order (I am married and have 2 daughters). ...what is required to join you as a Knight of Prayer? Thank you. Yours in Christ, Mark R. (Australia) 9/8/04_____________________________________________ Loving greetings from... Ben (Holland) 9/8/04____________________________________________ Thank you for your website. I cried when I found it, as it was just what I needed. Karen (British Columbia, Canada) 9/7/04____________________________________________ Hi there Monks. I was just having a chat with another lady who has a prayer school on line... I have a friend in town who is a habited nun who has a Celtic/Byzantine background and is an Abbess to a group of solitaries. The idea of the interdenominational monastic order has been discussed here with some folks in BC. We were chatting about married monastics. Your site was an eye opener. I attend an interdenominational church work in a Catholic School and have been sitting under a spiritual director monastic for several years. Westminster Abbey library is accessible to me sometimes and it has been a great place to go to have a few quiet moments and a lot of reading...really refreshing to see monasticism expressed without the complications of doctrinal differences. I find some of the same in the writings of the Desert Fathers. Lorna T. (British Columbia, Canada) 9/2/04____________________________________________ Just wanted to let you know that the Daily Prayer: Praying the Hours has been a real blessing in my life. Bless you all and keep up the great work. Bray (Texas) 8/19/04____________________________________________
I would like to buy the video you have on your
website about Count
Zinzendorf. I am a professor and administrator at Bethel Seminary in San Diego who has a great appreciation for the many contributions of monasticism throughout the ages. Keep up the good work! Peace, Kent, Bethel Seminary (San Diego, California) 8/18/04____________________________________________ Fantastic site, very interesting on how early Irish monks would marry, and have a family. Explains a lot about the origins of the surnames O Reachtabhra (Raftery) and O Reachtabhair (Rafter) as the majority of men with the personal name Reachtabhra in the 7th-9th centuries were abbots. Beir bua agus beannacht, Gary (County Cork, Republic of Ireland) 8/17/04____________________________________________ I am a pastor in a Reformed Church in North Carolina and was wondering if there were vows and if it is alright to use the material. Also, is there a way to send the information and join over the internet. Thanks. Rev. Aaron (North Carolina)

: We
do not have any vows.
We encourage
use of all of our material. It is copyrighted, so if you desire
to re-print something, or duplicate it electonically, copyright information and source information must accompany
it, and first permission must be asked and granted, which we are
usually glad to give. Otherwise, pages can just be printed out and used
"as is" from our website,
and we encourage this (no permission is need to do this).
Our Board of
Directors has approved setting up a Credit/Debit Card payment access
through our website, but unfortunately we have not yet been able to
implement
this (currently we are involved in moving to larger facilities).
So at this time we are still receiving everything through regular
postal mail at:

8/16/04____________________________________________ I really am impressed with your site. I am specifically talking about the content. Not that the layout isn't good. Many times sites look nice but the level of the material is superficial. It seems to me that you have put a great deal of research into this area. I will be back. Sincerely, Bob ____________________________________________________________ Next Previous Page of Letters (Page 47) E-mail Your Comments to: monks@prayerfoundation.org Copyright © 2004 S.G.P.
