Had you considered placing a list of monks on the Prayer Requests, so we can pray for each other by name?

in non necessariis Libertatem,
in utrisque Charitatem, optimo certe loco essent res nostrae
Reply from The Prayer Foundation : Although we are can be quite slow-moving in some things, we since yesterday have posted a list of Monks on our new page: Knights of Prayer Monks List: World!.  We felt that the list was a little too long to insert on our Prayer Requests page, but we have included a "link" to it there.  The new page also can be found at the end of the listing of THE MONKS Category and in the same location on our Site Map.
Thank you for suggesting it.

Re: A Wonderful Work                                                                         Dear in Christ Monk Preston,                                                                       I have thoroughly enjoyed the time spent reading about your Order and it's works.  It is most heartening to see that you have a rich and balanced outlook on your monastic life.  When I read your training program I had to consider giving this to some of the monks I know as an example of how to live.  It is wonderful that you are giving this opportunity to people and it is so approachable.

I have been a monastic in the Russian Orthodox Church for 34 years and can certainly recommend your approach as a spiritually sane way of living monastically.  Too often when people think about monasticism they focus on the outward things, the hardness of life and the remoteness.  There certainly are those types of monasticism and they have their place, but you are offering a type of monastic experience that seems to be able to be experienced in both a remote and an urban setting.  In our monastic tradition, one of our most holy monks, Silouan of Athos prophesied that there was a day coming when monks would live in the cities in apartments and among people in general.  You seem to be helping fulfill that prophecy.

I most certainly will pray for your Order and if I were in the world would seek a place in it.                                                                                    May God Bless your work, I am your unworthy servant,         Hieromonk Kyrill                                                                                          Holy Nativity of the Theotokos Hermitage (Illinois)

To everyone, I just thought it would be appropriate to let you know that I am being activated to full time status with the Army National Guard.  I will be leaving this 23rd of January to go to...for training as an MP and then go to Germany for one year.  It is quite possible that from Germany I could go to Iraq, depending on circumstances.  I just want to thank everyone for their friendship and their support by prayers.                       God bless you.
Sincerely,
Monk Stephen (Tennesee)

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
First, Greetings and Blessing from a fellow Monk (at heart currently).  My name is Jonathan C. and I currently reside in Maryland.  I was raised RC and for the longest time I felt pulled to be a Franciscan Priest, however God having a sense of humor introduced me to my wife (of 13 years) and since you can't be a monk, brother, or priest in the RC church being married, I have constantly felt the call of the Lord to do his work in a more involved capacity then just going to church.  Over the last 5 years the call has gotten so strong that I can no longer find a reason to put it off till later.  I have converted from RC to Anglican/Episcopal and have found a home in the Old Catholic Church in North America Independent where I will be starting the seminary next month.  I have been looking for a religious order that holds to the teachings of the Bible and the early church with Celtic/Franciscan monasticism.  I have taken personal vows with other fellow Franciscan that have had problems with finding the right community to give us a community though spread all over the world.  I am very interested in what I have read on your web site.  I would be very interested in becoming a member of your order by becoming a Lay Monk.  I already do some of what you suggest on the web site and will add that which I am not already doing.
Yours in Christ,
Br. Jonathan C., KStI

I am Justine M. from Vienna,
I had recently joined The Prayer Foundation (as a Prayer Warrior: Prayer Warrior Map: World; 24 Hr. Prayerchain).
From the last one month I have been visiting this website.
I was a monk at heart from 3 years before when I was saved.
Now I am worshipping the Lord in an AG Church.
I think it is time for me to register with The Prayer Foundation as an official Monk (Become A Monk!; Monk Certificate & Card).
Love and prayers...                                                                              Justine M. (Vienna, Austria)

I am a born-again Christian.  I felt that God told me to look up "man of prayer" using Google and it led me to your site.  What I liked best were the guidelines on praying 3 times a day (Daily Prayer: Praying the Hours).  They show that it is very practical and possible to include this into our days as a beginning, allowing people to grow in their Prayer life.
Currently I'm in Korea---soon to be stationed back in the U.S., though.  Your web site made me feel like rejoicing, I have always felt that God wanted me to learn much of what is revealed in learning how to live a life of prayer, yet I have found little to nothing in the way of guidelines on how to start, even though I grew up in church.                                 (Korea)

Re: Lectio Divina article:                                                                      Once again I am blessed by your writings.  Your website is a treasure trove Good Stuff!  As a solitary Oblate of  my order, Revived Order Knights Templar, I find there a great deal of sound direction and inspiration for my walk with the Lord.  I refer to your site often.
Keep up the good work!
