God bless you.

Dear Monk Preston and Monk Linda,
I just got back from Gloucester at CEM (Cutting
Edge Ministries) HQ and found your letter there along with Brother
Danny's CD...we know people into
soft and creative jazz will find it well done. It was nice
to get your letter and we are still amazed how you, like a prodigious
Luther, can find time to send a nice personal letter with
all the reading, writing, research and web page work facing you.
I don't know what stock you put into blessings these days by those not
of the official cloth (the spiritual act of blessing someone or
something, that is), but a blessing be upon you, and the Foundation
you founded.
...I don't think I could keep up as well with things as you have done with adding so many pages to your site, and I know all that HTML stuff would be a real challenge to a digital dinosaur like me. I'm going to get somebody we know to do a special page on Carol's Holy Thorn CD so people can order easily. By the way, the Bonhoeffer monasticism quote source is alluded to by the Northumbria Community in reference to the research of their associate, John Skinner (who found the quote in a Jan 14, 1935 letter of Bonhoeffer's to his brother, Karl Friedrick). We hope to be in touch so we can arrange to get together with you whilst we are in Oregon. Love in Christ; we do appreciate you both, Paul and Carol Arblaster (U.K.) P.S. I'm working on a new little book called, A Celtic Companion: Devotional Poems and Prayers of Vicarious Pilgrimage in the Ancient Tradition (its a mini history, travel, and interactive devotion book rolled into one covering some Celtic saints and their places, etc.) (Related Pages: Monk Paul U.K., Arblaster On Celtic Monasticism, Arblaster on Celtic Christianity, Book Review: "Celtic Christianity: Yesterday, Today, and for the Future" by Paul D. J. Arblaster; also see Monk Paul's own web site: Celtic Evangelism Fellowship. 11/27/03___________________________________________________ What
a beautiful site you have... ...Franco Zeffirelli's
Jesus
of Nazareth. It's been playing all Thanksgiving Day on The
History Channel, and I have no words to describe how much I Love
this film. Note from The Prayer Foundation ™ : We agree with you, and feel the same way about another of Franco Zefirelli's Films, Brother Sun, Sister Moon, on the early ministry of Francis of Assisi. Re: Great Web
Site!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was very happy to find your web
sight...I have done a couple of retreats and really enjoy the time
spent on prayer, and meditation that is sometimes difficult to get
during the normal routine of school , work and life in general. I
am also interested in becoming
a Lay Monk (Oblate) and am reviewing
the application process on your web sight...could
I be placed on the waiting list, either for a short or long term visit?
Peace,
Geoff (Seattle,
Washington)
11/24/03___________________________________________________ Peace be with you my brothers and sisters in Christ. I am so impressed and inspired with your life together with the Most High. This life of ours is so short. We must choose not to be fulfilled with the flesh but with the great love of Christ. It is my happiness to always pray for all of you that your lives be a sweet-smelling sacrifice acceptable to the Lord. Without people like you I cannot imagine how the world would be. Thank you once again, and may the peace and the glory of the Lord be with you always. Nathaniel N. (Mindanao, Philippines) 11/14/03___________________________________________________
Hi -
Just scanned through your site
and it looks great. Really interesting too that you allow women
monks. Did you read about our 'boiler rooms'? These are urban
monastic communities but with a slight difference. We took some of the
ideas and added some of our own and came up with these communities.
Check out www.boiler-rooms.com
.
I'm really interested in reading about
the old celtic monks.
Do you know any good places to read about their lives? We've done
a bit of a research (well not me but someone else) and he found out
about Alexander the Sleepless. He formed a nomadic monastic
community that traveled up and down the Euphrates praying non-stop,
setting up monasteries and ministering to the poor. He was called the
Sleepless because he prayed so much. It's a very cool story.
I'll put your website up as a
link. I am pretty slow at getting around to this though so I'll
apologize in advance for not getting it on the site straight away.
