I thank you again for your loving prayers for Lisa and
I, for our marriage, for our ministry, for us.  They
have meant so much, and they mean more now than they
ever have.  Thank you!
In the midst of this great struggle I am finding God's
peace and strength.
Thank you again, and God bless!
Agape',
Brice W.

Dear Brethren,                                                                                 "Subscribe."                                                                                                         Bob H. (Illinois)

Note from The Prayer Foundation : We have "subscribed" you per your request, to our monthly E-Newsletter.  Of course, you may "unsubscribe" at any time (All others: see our page: Sample Newsletter!).

Below we respond to a second e-mail, also from Bob H.:

Re:"Prayer Meeting Starters: "We had not thought about it before; our whole day goes from Bible Study to prayer to Christian service to work (often listening to the Bible and other Christian books or teaching on tape, or Christian Radio; particularly J. Vernon Mcgee, and "The Bible Answer Man": Hank Hanegraaff).  Everything works together. "Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you..." (James 4:8).

Thirty years ago Monk Preston attended his Church's Sunday morning weekly prayer meeting,  which was held several hours before the regular service.  He had to drive twenty minutes each way to do so, and then do the same again later for the Sunday Church service, as the Church building was in the next town (the Church of which he was then a member, didn't have a Church building in his small town).  He would begin the day, as always, with an hour of personal prayer before attending the prayer meeting.  He believed this is a good "Prayer Meeting Starter."  There were only about six who attended the weekly prayer meeting, and these were the Christians at that Church that he became closest to.

Re: Moody: What a wonderful ministry! Again about thirty years ago, Monk Preston was able to attend the anniversary of Moody Bible Institute at Moody Church in Chicago.  It was totally packed.  The surprise, which was unadvertised, was who the keynote speaker turned out to be: The Rev. Dr. Billy Graham!  Monk Preston will never forget that (Note: R. A. Torrey was the first President of the Moody Bible Institute.  See also: Jesus Abbey, a wonderful Ministry in Korea, on our page: Links to other Web Sites, which was founded and is still headed by the Torrey family).

Dear Monks,
Our team is back from China.  They had a safe and eventful trip. Every trip is different, so flexibility is a requirement.

One of our friends in China, a student at a small university, we will call him "X" has been a regular contact of ours for several trips. X is the son of a poor farming family from a rural village. His family has made many sacrifices to give him a chance at a higher education. X is the only one of his family who has been to college and who can speak English.  X's mother and brother are Christians and have been praying or X and his father for many years.  At the beginning of this trip, X's father was home dying from cancer.  His father has heard of our team's love for the Chinese people and asked if the team would visit him on this trip.  Plans were made to visit X's home village and family next **** afternoon.
I am sad to say that his father died the day before the team's planned
visit.
However I am happy to say that before X's father died, X's mother led
X's father in prayer as he accepted Jesus as his Lord!  Soon after,
our friend X also became a believer.  How happy we are to welcome
X's new brothers into our family!
Please pray for this family as the father's death has left them in heavy debt.   We have given them a gift to help.  Please hold this family up to the throne.
X is back in school and studying hard.  He said that it was his father's wish that he keep on with his education.  X's mother and brother will be working extra hard to support the family, pay the debt, and to keep X in school.

This is just one of the many stories the team brought back with them.
And it is experiences like this that will keep us going back.

The brothers and sisters are alive and well.
Yours truly,
Monk William (California)

Count Zinzendorf, The Moravian Brethren, & Jan Amos Comenius

Dear Monk Preston,
Thank you for the correction and additional information added (Note: to our page: Christian History Timeline).  Moravians are a small group and tend to be looked over even through we have a rich history.
I did have to respond to this email and let you know the amusement and joy it gave me.  You may think this odd, but it was my husband through his company (Comenius Communications Inc., for the Comenius Foundation) who produced the video Count Zinzendorf: Prophet of the Heart.  In fact, we lived with this project so long, I was being to think of the Count as a family member!
It was a labor of love and respect for such a great man.  We also run the web site
www.zinzendorf.com  as well as many other sites.
In case you are wondering, yes, we named the company and non-profit foundation for Jan Amos Comenius, the father of modern education and Moravian Bishop and believe that video and television should be used to educate and enlighten.
Thank you again for your effort.
God Bless All,
Debbie

Note from The Prayer Foundation : We will be reviewing both Videos and Books on Count Zinzendorf, The Moravian Brethren, and Jan Amos Comenius (the father of modern education), in future Book and Movie Reviews on this site (until then see our page: Christian History Timeline).
