Dear Monks of the Prayer Foundation,
For some time, I have wanted to live my life as a monk.  I am willing to
devote my days on Earth to the service of the Lord, prayer, helping others in need, and celebrating the many joys made possible by God.  The idea of monastic life enchants me, and I feel that it is quite possibly my calling in life.  However, I do not belong to a religion where it is possible, to my knowledge, to become a monk, and I am a devout Protestant.  This has left me with many uncertainties as to what my next steps should be as I attempt to fulfill this goal.

If you should have time, I would appreciate it if you would provide any
advice or suggestions related to this matter.
In the meantime, thank you for being such a wonderful group.  You help so many with your work, which is why I continue to pray for you.
God Bless and Happy Easter,

A.

Note from The Prayer Foundation: Thank you so much for praying for us, and thank you for your words of encouragement.  We are happy to take the time, but we would not presume to offer advice or suggestions.  Your life's calling from God is a matter between you and Him, sought by much prayer and study of His Word.  We were in the same position as yourself.  In our case, after years of prayer, the Lord led us to begin The Prayer Foundation, a ministry "to promote prayer among all Christians, and proclaim Jesus Christ to the World," which is still in its early beginnings. Before we even incorporated, we already had a vision for the next twenty-five years.  Because we felt called to serve God as Monks (but Monks who were first of all Born-again Christians and following Biblical revelation as seen in the great doctrines of the Protestant Reformation), the Knights of Prayer Monastic Order was present from the inception.  Many individuals with feelings similar to yours have seen this religious Order as a way of validating or recognizing what they already feel to be true, that they are "already monks in their hearts." God has a perfect plan for your life; much prayer and Bible Study will reveal it to you.

It would not surprise us in the future to see Southern Baptist, Nazarene, and Assembly of God Monasteries (strange as that may now seem) at some point in the future, should the Lord not come back first.

Hello, my name is Angie.  I am writing you because I am in my senior year of a Christianity degree at ************** College in Georgia.  I am working on my senior paper and have decided to do it on the monastic prayer life.  I have found sources by Thomas Merton and such but would like opinions of those who live the life today.  This probably sounds like a weird thing to ask, but I am being honest.  I hope that you will write me back and tell me things about your prayer life as a group in your monastery and as an individual.  I do not mean to pry, just daily routines and what impact it has on you and the world inside and outside of the monastery's walls.
Thank you,
Angie B.

It has been almost one year since I last e-mailed you, because my e-mail system bugged down, I thought for good, but suddenly now my computer is working again.
Well, probably it was God's grace, thanks for praying, for indeed, I felt sorry before that I wasn't able to tell you all the prayers that had been answered by God thru your help, because I couldn't use this E-mail service.
God is really great, that's why He caused this problem to be fixed, and I can communicate with you again.  I just graduated from college, that is something I give thanks for.  I do have some financial aid for my support in medical school for the next few months, although I am not so sure where to study, since I am still undergoing the application process for a slot in several medical schools.
Nevertheless, I am very happy that my e-mail is working, it still has a glitch, but it's fine...I am just so happy to tell you the great news, that your prayers have helped me.
Thanks and God bless, from the...
