Gifts / Contact Us 3/11/02_______________________________________________________ Dear Prayer Foundation, Upon visiting your website, I became interested in becoming a monk. I am particularly interested in finding my way back to the ways of the Lord and serving Him during my time on earth. I am a High School Senior, and I feel that this may be just what I need to help me to be sure of a successful and rewarding life while at University and in the workforce. I too wish to promote prayer in any possible way, so I would appreciate it if you would send me any information that you feel that I would benefit from while considering this step in my life. Thank you! A.T.J.C. (Ontario, Canada) Note from The Prayer Foundation™: Thank you for your interest in our ministry! We are always happy to receive inquiries from High School Students. From time to time others in your age group have written or E-mailed us about becoming a Monk, and many have signed up for times as Prayer Warriors on our 24-Hr. Prayerchain. We have put all of our information on our Web Site, so there is nothing additional that we have available to "send out." Monk Bob accepted Jesus into his heart and life as his personal Saviour, and began an Evangelistic ministry at age 19. As you know, Salvation is a Person, the Person of Jesus Christ (see: Plan of Salvation, Statement of Faith.) Once someone has repented and given their life to Christ, and received the free gift of being re-born to eternal life; what comes next is living your life in holiness and sanctification before God, seeking His Will and guidance in all things. Not for salvation, but out of thankfulness for salvation already received. For the best summary on becoming a Monk in this Order, go to President's Page: Knights of Prayer Monastic Order. There you will also find links many other related pages. Also several frequently asked questions ( and our answers) concerning monasticism in general, and our Knights of Prayer™ Order in particular, may be found on our page: FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions. Much concerning personal Christian growth may be found in the books listed on our page: Recommended Books. Also for growth in the Christian life and in the knowledge of God's Word, we highly recommend listening to the daily radio ministries of J. Vernon McGee (Thru The Bible) and The Bible Answer Man (Hank Hanegraaff). 2/26/02_______________________________________________________ When will you be updating and
online again? Note from The Prayer Foundation™: Thank you so much for your kind words and encouragement. E-mails like yours are greatly appreciated. We had a hard drive failure that brought down our entire system. We could not send E-mails, post new prayer requests, or up-date our web site. We were told that all would be solved in five days...then a week...another two weeks, etc. Yesterday we finally got back on line and we praise the Lord that we are able to minister for Him in all these ways, again! 2/25/02_______________________________________________________ ...I feel strongly that I'm being called to monastic/service-of-Christ life, but I'm a non-denominational Spirit-filled Christian, so I wouldn't feel comfortable being a Catholic nun, and also I'm in graduate school with a huge amount of student loans. Despite these circumstances, it's almost all I can think about, living my life in prayer and service to the poor. Thank you. Laura (Tucson, Arizona) 1/1/02_______________________________________________________ Thank you again so much for
your website. It is such an encouragement to me. 1/1/02_______________________________________________________
Thank you for your
prayers. There has been much renewal and hope in all situations. I
have experienced a great deal of victory...I am still encouraged and
thankful. Thank you for your prayers and God bless you.
