    Beatrice, the daughter of Somerled, Lord of the Isles, was the first Prioress of an Abbey on the Scottish Island of Iona, beginning in A.D. 1200.  

    One of only two Augustinian Orders in Scotland, they were called "An Eaglais Dubh" ("The Black Church") because of the color of their robes. ________________
