As a result of his life and work, there emerged a uniquely Celtic form of Christianity... Who was St. Patrick? The man that came to be the patron saint of Ireland was an ordinary man who accomplished the extraordinary by placing his faith in God. Originally sent to Ireland in the 5th century as a bishop to lead Irish Christians, Patrick chose instead to bring Christianity to those Irish not yet converted, and did so without bloodshed. As a result of his life and work, there emerged a uniquely Celtic form of Christianity, a religion firmly Christian in belief yet not far removed from the traditions, practice, and law of the Irish. ...an emotionally moving and visually dramatic rendition of the life of Ireland's Patron Saint. Filmed entirely in Ireland... Director Dave Tennant takes the viewer on an emotionally moving and visually dramatic rendition of the life of Ireland's Patron Saint. Filmed entirely in Ireland, the film follows the story of both the man and the saint, unraveling myth and history, with commentary from Father Frank Fahey of Balintubber Abbey and Michael Slaven, author of The Book of Tara. ______________________________ See Also: ______________________________ © ' 2000 Insight Film & Video Production. Our Comments: "This Docudrama contains all of the intensely scriptural words that St. Patrick ever wrote. Excellent! We watch this one over and over, and it is our next choice, after the movie Brother Sun, Sister Moon, to play for monastery visitors." -The Prayer Foundation ™ _____________________________ St. Patrick: Apostle of Ireland DVD ... is available as a Free Gift to those making a tax-deductible contribution for the support of The Prayer Foundation.™ For more information on how to obtain your own personal copy, and for a list of other Gifts available to our Supporters, go to our page: Gifts For Contributors! ____________________ ...it may also be purchased through our Gift Shop. _____________________________ Copyright © 2007 S.G.P.
