Plan of Salvation _______________

Tell others about Jesus like Francis of Assisi did:

Though not all Christians are called to full-time Ministry, we are all called by God to share our faith (witness) with those who are not Christians.  Some Bible verses that you will find helpful for doing this, and that you may want to commit to memory are found on other pages on our  web site (see: Memory Verses; 2nd Set: Salvation!, Plan of Salvation, and Statement of Faith). _________________

The Astonishing Life of Francis of Assisi

"Don't make a saint of me," Francis of Assisi told a friend -- even as his charisma and holiness were dazzling his contemporaries and generating a legend that has lasted almost a millenium.  Reluctant Saint shows us a Saint Francis who transcends the the image familiar to even the least religious among us: wealthy, playboy, soldier, businessman, preacher, defender of the poor, mystic and -- later -- an inspiration to lovers of nature and the earth.

Filmed on Location in Italy

Filmed on location in Italy, Reluctant Saint captures all the violence, color, and mystery of Francis' time -- a time like our own, full of crises, craving for reform and for a deeper, simpler, more personal faith.  Reluctant Saint offers new insights into a life that has engaged the hearts and minds of millions over the centuries.

Our Comments:

This Video was produced for Faith & Values Media, an ecumenical organization comprised of Protestant, Roman Catholic and Jewish organizations.  It gives an excellent coverage of the life of St. Francis.

Also, there is coverage of Francis receiving the "stigmata," which leaves most Protestants without inspiration, if not downright disbelief and a feeling that it is one of those incredible (unbelievable) legends that were unfortunately often added to biographies in the Middle Ages.  It also shows St. Francis naked (from behind) when he gives his clothes back to his Father, which, while historically accurate, is shown longer than ________________________________

We like this Video.  Deleting about ten minutes of it leaves it much improved as an excellent and inspiring history of Francis of Assisi.
