Plan of Salvation ___________

Tell others about Jesus like John Stott does:

We who are Christians are all called by God to share our faith (witness) with those who are not Christians.  Some Bible verses that you will find helpful for doing this, and that you may want to commit to memory are found on other pages on our  web site (see: Memory Verses; 2nd Set: Salvation!, Plan of Salvation, and Statement of Faith).   _________

John Stott was born in London in 1921 and attended Cambridge University.  He came to Christ through the evangelism of a lecturer in his public school.

After his ordination in the Church of England he served as a curate and later rector of All Souls Church, Langham, in Londonís West End.

He says "God gave me a hunger for himself." He made three difficult decisions in his life he has never regretted: not to become an academic, not to marry, and not to become a bishop.

"I want to bear witness that I have found in the ministry to which God has called me, enormous joy and satisfaction."

Early in his ministry he started an annual training school to teach lay people how to evangelize. He was a prime mover of the Lausanne Covenant in 1974.

And a strong supporter of the move to encourage evangelical Christianity and preaching to the church, giving support to the Scripture Union and the Evangelical Alliance.

He has led more than fifty university missions throughout the world and established the
All Souls International Fellowship to minister to students from other countries.

Since 1959 he has been a royal chaplain. Stott founded the Institute for Contemporary Christianity in 1982, and later became its president.
