He is one of the great but little-known heroes of Christian History.
One of the great innovations of Comenius was education for girls. "Father of Modern Education" Comenius lived in the 17th century. He is commonly hailed as the "Father of Modern Education." His fascinating and tragic life is caught up in the atrocities of the Thirty Years War. Exiled from his beloved Czechoslovakia as a Protestant leader, Comenius flees persecution and travels across Europe. His startling educational concepts spark historic innovations, while his personal life is a testimony to the persistence of Christian courage.
From his classic allegory, "The Labyrinth of the World," dramatized in the film. He loses two wives, battles the plague and has his lifelong writings burned. This major dramatic release shows us the struggles that one was called to bear to remain faithful and make a major impact for the kingdom of God. ______________________________ |
