Women of the Bible face life's trials with faith in God. Three Classic Bible Stories
The Touch After years of shame and isolation as one "unclean" with an issue of blood, a woman hears of the Master's coming. Desperate to have a life without scorn and contempt, the woman feels confidant that this small act can make her whole. Her faith is rewarded as He notices her act of faith and heals her. The Sisters of Bethany Martha and Mary face a test as their brother, Lazarus, falls ill. Urgently they send for Jesus to come to his aid; however, He delays the trip, and Lazarus dies. The sisters despair with the death of Lazarus. Anxiously they await Jesus' coming to comfort them, and confront their personal trials of faith and submission to God's will. Elijah and the Widow of Zarephath A desperate young widow encounters the Prophet Elijah. His entreaties challenge her faith as he asks her for the last bit of food she possesses--a handful of meal and a little oil to make the last meal of bread for her and her son. The widow and her son are blessed as she exercises her faith and shares their meager resources with God's prophet. _________________________ |
