John Paton (1824-1907) In answer to his parent's prayers, John Paton became a missionary and brought God's word to fierce cannibal tribes in the New Hebrides. Overcoming the harsh rejection that greeted him there, he lived to see the gospel amazingly transform formerly savage peoples.

Eric Liddell (1902-1945) Still remembered from his life story in the Academy Award winning film Chariots of Fire, Eric was world famous as an Olympic track champion. But he had an even more important goal in life. He went to China as a missionary, where he ended up ministering as a prisoner of war.

Danish missionary to Indonesia among the Bataks

Ludwig Nommensen (1834-1918) A childhood accident turned this Danish young man's attention to God and led him to missionary service. He went to Indonesia among the Bataks. At first they wanted nothing to do with him and tried to kill him. He still loved them and lived to see a miraculous change there.

How could he go live with the lepers on Hawaii's Molokai island? For Damien it was a call from God...
