Wonderful Stories Introducing Children to Fascinating Heroes in Christian History!

William Carey went to India and sparked the modern Protestant missionary movement.

  • William Carey (1761-1834).  This humble uneducated shoemaker passionately believed the Gospel was for all people and went to India as a missionary.  He sparked the modern Protestant missionary movement and overcame incredible difficulties to bring the message of Christ to unreached peoples.

Robert Raikes launched what became the Sunday School movement.

  • Robert Raikes (1735-1811).  A newspaperman saw children being exploited and forced to work long hours under intolerable conditions.  He decided to do something about it and help educate these children for a better life.  In the process he launched what became the Sunday School movement.

Hans Egede was the very first missionary to the Eskimos of Greenland

  • Hans Egede (1686-1758).  This Norwegian Pastor knew he was called to bring the message of God's love to the vast and frigid wasteland of Greenland.  He struggled there for years.  He saw little fruit but still persevered and laid the foundation for the Christianization of that land.
