Tell others about Jesus like Monk Bob does:

Though not all Christians are called to the ministry of an Evangelist and Missionary, we are all called by God to share our faith (witness) with those who are not Christians.  Some Bible verses that you will find helpful for doing this, and that you may want to commit to memory are found on other pages on our  web site (see: Memory Verses; 2nd Set: Salvation!, Plan of Salvation, and Statement of Faith). _________________

"And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.  And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.  And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven."

When Monk Bob Was a New Christian: Tent Meeting

Having received Christ when he was nineteen through reading the New Testament, Monk Bob soon felt led to go out frequently to preach the good news that Jesus saves.  He shared the gospel of our Saviour in the city streets throughout different parts of the nation.

Now an event happened that perhaps should be told.  After being saved only for a few short months, he attended the tent meeting of Joe Hankins for three weeks.  Joe, a marvelous preacher, not only preached on the Cross, but also frequently talked about the very soon Second Coming of Jesus.

Joe's preaching so stirred Monk Bob that he took very literally Matthew 24:27,  which says:

"For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be."

One Night in the Hospital Where the Navy Had Sent Me to Recover

     In Monk Bob's own words:

"Believing then that Jesus would come in the sky out of the east, so to the east I looked.  I began each morning and evening to set my eyes to the eastern sky expecting perhaps today He will come; then concluding, "Not today."

About that time, one night in the Hospital where the Navy had sent me to recover (from an arm injury), I was reading the Bible to a fellow sailor, including the verses, Mark 13:25,26 which say:

"And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.  And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.  And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven."

"Look!  The stars are falling!"

finished reading those verses, someone ran in from outside shouting loudly, "Look!  The stars are falling!  The stars are falling!" I and my friend (who was not a Christian) ran quickly outside and looked up into the night sky.  Everywhere by the hundreds stars were falling.  The year was 1946.  This also happened in November of 2002, when 6,000 "falling stars" (meteorites) could be seen falling each hour. As I looked up, my hair stood straight up.  I grabbed the sailor's hand and lifted our hands up toward heaven, shouting, "This is it!  He's coming!"

Five Years Later: I Wanted You to Know This...

Five years passed.  Both of us were out of the service and had parted our ways.  One day as I returned home, I opened the door, ands there stood the same young man.  How he had found me, I don't know.  He said, "Remember when you read the scriptures, and we ran outside and looked up and said "This is it!  He's coming!" and the stars were falling everywhere...?  Well, I never had been saved before, but at that exact moment I gave my life to Jesus, and was saved.  I wanted you to know this." ______________________________
