These are the verses that we pray, not upon first arising, for that is when we pray St. Patrick's Breastplate and Psalm 5; but when beginning either our One Daily Hour of Prayer or the first of the Threefold Daily Prayers, whichever comes first that day (see: A Morning Prayer Service). ____________________________________________________________

It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness." -Lamentations 3:22-23

This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it." -Psalm 118:24
