To observe The Threefold Daily Prayers of the Apostles and the Early Church at the times recorded in the New Testament of 9am, Noon and 3pm, in the way that our particular Monastic Order does, it is best to memorize The Lord's Prayer, The 23rd Psalm, and Psalm 117 (see also: Daily Prayer: Praying the Hours). ______________________________________________________

9 a.m. Prayer (Biblical 3rd Hour -Acts 2:15; Mark 15:25)

The Lord's Prayer (Memory Verses)

Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name.  Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on Earth, as it is in Heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  For Thine is the Kingdom, and the Power, and the Glory, forever and ever.  Amen.

(Matthew 6:9–13; Luke 11:2-4) ______________________________________________________

Noon Prayer (Biblical 6th Hour -Acts 10:9; Mark 15:26)

The 23rd Psalm (Memory Verses)

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.  He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:  he leadeth me beside the still waters.  He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine  enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of  my life: And I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.   _____________________________________________________

3 p.m. Prayer (Biblical 9th Hour -Acts 3:1-6; Acts 10:1-3; Acts 10:30; Mark 15:33-38)

Psalm 117 (Memory Verses)

O Praise the Lord all ye nations, praise him all ye people: For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the Lord endureth forever.  Praise ye the Lord.
