Have you received Christ as your Lord and Saviour?

Find out how to do so on our page:

Plan of Salvation _______________

Tell others about Jesus like Luis Palau does:

Though not all Christians are called to the ministry of an Evangelist, we are all called by God to share our faith (witness) with those who are not Christians.  Some Bible verses that you will find helpful for doing this, and that you may want to commit to memory are found on other pages on our  web site (see: Memory Verses; 2nd Set: Salvation!, Plan of Salvation, and Statement of Faith). _________________

"He's preached to thirteen million people in nearly seventy nations...he's dodged bullets in Colombia, defied guerrilla warriors in Peru, and outlived bomb threats in Egypt..." ____________________

Before he could preach the gospel, he would have to live the gospel.

Young Luis Palau was mesmerized by his father's zeal for evangelism.  In spite of name calling, insults, and rock throwing, Luis Palau, Sr. continued to tell the people of Buenos Aires, Argentina, about God's love and redemption.  But when his beloved "Papito" died suddenly, Luis turned his back on God and the gospel.

Years later, on a rainy night, a scared and broken Luis fell to his knees and confessed Jesus as his Lord.  He was soon overwhelmed with a passion to share the Good News and tirelessly preached the gospel from Colombia to to Mexico, earning the title, "the Billy Graham of Latin America."

"the Billy Graham of Latin America."

Soon God opened the world to Luis, enabling him to preach to thirteen million people in nearly seventy nations.  During his three and a half decades of ministry so far, more than 727,000 people have said "yes" to Christ in almost four hundred crusades.  And although he's dodged bullets in Colombia, defied guerrilla warriors in Peru, and outlived bomb threats in Egypt, Luis says he won't give up living the gospel, or preaching it...

Our Comments:

"Nothing could have prepared Luis for the mass of people---a crowd estimated by police at fifty-five thousand---that crammed into a five-block section of Waterfront Park along the Willamette River in downtown Portland that Saturday evening."

(-quote from the book, "Luis Palau: Evangelist to the World")

This is an excellent book that will both bless you, and cause you to think about how you are living your Christian life.

This is the first of the "Heroes of the Faith" books in which Monk Linda and I were actually present at an event mentioned in the book.

This is the first of the "Heroes of the Faith" books in which Monk Linda and I were actually present at an event mentioned in the book.  It was Luis Palau's first experiment having "Christian Festival" (an Evangelistic Crusade with young people's Christian Bands providing the Music).

This Evangelistic crusade was so successful, that it is now the way Luis Palau practices Evangelism in the U.S.A.  This event is mentioned near the end of this book.  It occurred in Portland, Oregon, and was Luis Palau's very first Evangelistic effort in Portland's Waterfront Park.

Portland, Oregon, happens to be the world headquarters for both the Luis Palau Evangelistic Association (LPEA), and also for The Prayer Foundation .  We cannot help but feel honored by this fact.
