The Colonial Revival known as "The Great Awakening" began through the ministry of Jonathan Edwards and continued through the ministry of George Whitefield.

This preacher was much more than the creator of a famous sermon.

Jonathan Edwards is much remembered for one powerful sermon that he preached, "Sinners in the hands of an angry God."  But to stop there is to overlook his many other accomplishments, not only in the ministry but in philosophy, science, and education.  Many believe Jonathan Edwards was the greatest thinker in American history.

Underlying every aspect of his life, however, were his passionate love for God, and his never-ending quest for the best way to serve Him.  Deep study of God's Word, Spirit-led preaching, and even missionary outreach to native American tribes characterized the life and ministry of Jonathan Edwards.
